Not much activity here...

My partner and I are taking Michael Reed's Backyard Permaculture course for those interested - over 12 weeks/6 months covers all aspects of permaculture specifically for the backyard gardner, even more specifically for here in Abq.  Taught at La Orilla farm (Michael's farm) in the south valley.  Its not too late to sign up! 

Personally we're building hugelkulture beds in our front yard in Nob Hill.  Hoping this provides nutrients and water for the drought-tolerant/xeric garden we are going to put in.  Looking at Chinese Pistache; Desert Willow; Mtn Mahogany; Bosnian Pine; native Roses; native berries; etc.  Anyone interested in seeing the hugelkulture beds in progress can stop by.

Any recommendations for some Native plant species for a small south facing living roof garden? Horizontal rhizome roots preferred

This year's Permaculture Course in ABQ is about to begin.  I took it last year and learned an amazing amount of information - changed my backyard and my life.
