Comment by Puck Crack on February 25, 2012 at 8:03pm My name is Ryan. I'm 28 years old, and I absolutely love art. My passions range from photography to poetry to music to comics and everything in between. I am the CTE (Capturing True Emotion) Photography ABQ Facebook leader and wanted to introduce you all to the club.
ALL levels of photography are welcome, and to reiterate what is said on the CTE registration page:"Take your photography to levels never thought possible! This is an opportunity to have fun, learn and share your knowledge with others who also have a passion for photography. The objective of the CTE Photography Meetup Group is to have fun and make friends in beautiful settings, concentrating on giving and receiving shared knowledge about controlling all of the settings on your camera: light, color, metering, and composition.
Everyone is welcome to join us! Invite your friends and anyone who shares the same passion for photography as you do." With regard to the CTE mission, I hope that through this group we can sharpen each others creativity and see the world through a different perspective. I'd like to inquire as to what everyone's expectations are, as well as what types of outings would be preferable to everyone. Would anyone like to do class-like meetings either in person and/or online? Or would you prefer to meet up in different places and just try to capture the world through your lens? This is going to be our group, so I'd like to get some feedback from everyone regarding what they'd like this group to be, as well as what they'd like to learn/try with their photography. I look forward to sharing creativity with everyone!
Ryan

Curated by Claudi Carreras, the exhibition E•CO gathered photographic projects by twenty Latin American and European photographic collectives, each tasked with crafting a visual essay about one of the most important topics of our day: the environment. Free of curatorial influence, the collectives define “environment” for themselves and maintain their own production and editing processes. E•CO is a sample of the most pressing environmental problems, in the countries where the collectives are operating.
E•CO 2010 assembled 20 photographic collectives from Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, UK, Venezuela and Spain as well as a multinational group that represents photographers from Eastern Europe, that discussed with editors, researchers and other professionals of this media, the problematical and needs of the photographic medium.
Opening night and reception on Thursday, March 1ST at 6PM led by Claudi Carreras. Pete V. Domenici Education Center, at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, located at 1701 4th Street SW (4th Street and Avenida César Chávez).
Exhibit E•CO will be opened to the public from March 1st to May 31stt. Opening times: Monday to Friday from 9AM to 5PM. Saturday from 9AM to 12PM. Free admission.
