Hi everyone-
Does anyone have any interest in a book exchange? There are just some books of mine that even the used book stores won't take. Maybe we could organize a time/place to meet one of these days and everyone can bring books they wouldn't mind parting with. Or, if you could just loan it out and agree to have it returned later.
Thoughts?

Have you heard of paperbackswap.com? Check it out. You list the books you don't want, search for the books you do, and send them to each other. It does have a cost associated, since you have to mail the book.

Book exchange, awesome idea! Except that it takes me a long time to finish some books. Maybe there could be a monthly time and place, and people either show or they don't?

Sol: Tried bookins.com? You list your books, movies, video games, etc. on the site, and when someone wants one, you get an email and a pre-paid postage form to print out. Then you drop your item in the mailbox. You earn points, and then trade them in for what you want (paying the postage for them). I've gotten rid of tons of stuff this way, including books that bookstores wouldn't take, old VHS and DVDs and CDs.

Hey Sol!

I would be happy to participate in a book exchange. The more the merrier. I can participate, depending upon when/where the exchange would take place.

I am a devotee of paperbackswap.com and will now check out bookins.com (thanks Kelly!)

great! I'm out of town a lot during the summer- maybe we could organize one in mid-August or thereabouts?
