La Plazita and Kalpulli Teocalli Ollin, in sponsorship with the University of New Mexico Women's Resource Center and the New Mexico Behavioral Health Purchasing Collaborative will celebrate our 7th Annual Traditional Mexican Healing Day Event.

Time: 3:00 pm-10:00 pm

Location: 831 Isleta Blvd SW

More Info: 508-1802

On the "day of healing," La Plazita will host 30 Curanderos (Mexican Folk Healers) who offer their services to the public for free. Come join us for entertainment, food, and healing!

We also need volunteers if you are interested in the areas of parking, kitchen work, interpreters (Spanish), set-up, clean-up...

Thanks,

You forgot Sandia Base, now Kirtland AFB. Yes, I am an army brat. Folks ended up retiring here in Abq. Lucky for me. I remember when Montgomery Blvd. was a dirt road, Uncle Cliff's was waaaay out in the boon-docks and Rio Ranch was just a developers dream.

San Gabriel had the best keggers and cruising! Does anybody remember the Zodiac club in Barelas -corner of 4th & Bridge? It was across the street from El Cambio's grocery store. I lived next to the store on Simpier Lane.

Akira, if you haven't already contacted them, maybe the Albuquerque Museum would have info. Or maybe Cultural Services at City Hall

Can anyone help me out? i am trying to find posters of the paintings of the Sandia and possibly Manzano Mts. that are or were in the airport. I do not recall the artist but I need some memories of home here in Misseryoui. Thanks

Hi all. I am interested in the picture of the Kimo theatre. Was that at 4th and Central? My mother used to work at the Coney Island Cafe at 4th and Central. It would be right next to the black lamp post on the right edge of the picture or painting. These discussions are bringing back many memories of growing up in Albuquerque. Very cool.
