Another decent package liquor place for decent beer selection is the Four Winds Trading Post (or some similar name - "4 Winds" is definitely part of it). They are on 12th Street just south of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. Its not as good a selection as Jubilation, but its much closer to my house, so for the Downtown Dwellers, its a good option. I regularly see Modus Hoperandi, Dale's IPA, and a few other tasty treats. Not sure if I saw Anchor Steam there, but possibly. They recently expanded the alcohol section, so the options may be more varied than before.

 

Of course, Marble is just as close and a take-out growler is well worth the jaunt. I love that place!

Generally thinking I've found that if its possible to get package beer in the state the best place to ask about it is Jubiliation on Lomas and Carlisle.

Also another question is if there is any place that may have any brews from the anchorage brewery? i just got a bitter monk and i got to say i would rate it in the top 3 beers i have had. i tend to be a beer snob so it would take alot for me to say that

does anybody know when the boars nest will be opening up? i looked up the address and its in a storage complex..... dont get me wrong but i think that would be ideal but not sure..

Yeah, the old Banana Joe's it is. Goathead website (goatheadbrewing.com) is just a placeholder right now, but click on the facebook icon, where they have more info.

Is Goathead going to be in the old Banana Joe's space? That's a pretty gigantic venue, maybe they're only taking part of it? I guess they could take a bunch of it up with brewery aparatus.

Great name for an Albuquerque brewery btw.

Stephen CM, one is Goathead Brewing, which will be a brewery/brewpub on 6th and Central downtown. Music venue, rooftop space, to open in spring. Don't know of another downtown, but La Cumbre is opening a sizeable brewery/tap house in Girard/Candelaria area, run by the former Chama head brewer.
