Woo Hoo!  Spotted my first hummer today at one of my feeders (which, of course, I've had up for a week because I can't wait for them to arrive).

Couldn't i.d. it, backlit by the sun. I was hoping they'd show up, following all the glorious blooming trees.  I'm near Montgomery & Tramway.

Wow! Very cool and as you say, so early! Let us know if it returns.

Ah...I was out of town for a week, I thought too long to leave a feeder out unattended (when the season had not actually started).  So thanks for the heads up!  I'll go put up a trial feeder today.

Some years I wait until I see a hummer in the yard.  They fly up to the spots I had feeders in previous years, sorta like "is lunch ready yet?"

Most years I have not seen any hummers until 3rd week in April.  I'm near Highland High (SE Hts).  10 years ago when I lived closer to the river, they came earlier and in waves.  I love the big feeders at the Rio Grande Nature Center.

we are to have a dip in temps tomorrow. wishing them warmth.
