I had a nice prolonged look at a Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon’s, with a very yellow throat, side patches, rump, no yellow crown. My bird matches perfectly the illustrations for a breeding (May - Aug) adult female. But it’s December! What else might I be looking at?
I bet your ID is good. Once they're mature, Yellow-rump winter plumage is not as drab as many/most other warblers. I've seen quite colorful individuals in January.
Thanks, BB. That's reassuring.
