It has felt like I have been stuck in exile since moving to the NE heights. All I have been dreaming of has been good pizza. Last month those dreams were answered with the opening of Straight up pizza. It is located on Wyoming and Burlison dr Ne across from the Academy. They took over what use to be Woody's Sports cafe.
I first stopped by to grab a slice. I quickly found out they do not offer pizza by the slice. Instead they offered me a 10" pie with two toppings and a soda for
$5.65. The best part is it took less then 10min to come out. I topped my 10" with bacon and roasted garlic. I took one bite and I am now straight up hooked. They also have a sweet lunch special. A 10" with 1 topping and a coke will run you less then $5.00. They offer free delivery all the way down to San Mateo. For delivery we have been ordering the 18" legit with 3 toppings for $12.99.
I started writing this post yesterday and since then I have tried their calzone. I ordered it with Pepperoni, Mushrooms and roasted garlic. Well.... It is one of the best calzones I have ever devoured I might give up pizza and just eat calzones. Except that their pizza is amazing. So If your in the neighborhood and want a wicked good Pie I highly recommend this little joint.
Sorry the pricing I had was during their soft opening. I went there for lunch again today and It 6.99 for 10" two topping with a drink. I also attached their menu.
