Well Dull John, Looks like the sale of the Brasserie La Provence could have have been simple "Paternoster economics". Steve Paternoster owner of Scalo, behind the scenes partner in P'Tit Louis and committed franchisee of 3 Albuquerque Einstein Bagel locations may have simply sold off the bottom of the list. Time will tell if Claus can push the Brasserie to the next level.

Very disappointed about the change of ownership at La Provence in Nob Hill. Didn't miss Claus when Miche closed due to a tax lein (do you deserve my support if you don't pay your taxes?). The guy at the front, Carl is a sorry replacement for the warm and attentive staff I enjoyed all these years. I found the food less than before, there was nothing wrong with the menu, but ego dictates changes. Too bad, glad there are others to love like Zinc and Scalo!

There is a gentleman in the south valley that butchers his own pigs for roasting. He only speaks spanish. He is a friend of the family and we always get them from him when making a Cuban Lechon. Message me if you are interested.

Anyone know a local farm where I can get a whole pig ~100lb for a roast?  I've emailed Los Poblanos a couple of times with no response.  Called Keller's and they ship from Colorado.  Saw an article on

De La Sierra Pig Farm dating back to 2003 but no more info.  mmmm...

I wanted to let you know of a feature article I hope to run each quarter called “9 to 5”. It is a story idea that will highlight as editorial a new restaurant each quarter for breakfast, lunch and happy hour as anything but ordinary. If you own a restaurant or know of a great restaurant you would like to nominate please email me (editor@travelhostnm.com) a short paragraph (or two) with your nomination. Please be sure to include contact information for yourself (and the restaurant if they are not the same) in case any questions arise.

A little bit about TRAVELHOST of Central New Mexico magazine:

* Daily in-room distribution by 62 hotels (and growing) inside approx. and 12,000 guest rooms
* This means this issue will reach approx. 450,000 qualified buyers during the season
* Online listings and web promotion is available
* TH prides itself on being a valuable resource for visitors to New Mexico. In every issue you will find quality articles, featuring the must do's, must see's and must have's
* Looking forward to Northern NM expansion in 2011

Thank you for your suggestions!

Sincerely,
Angelic
