Just wanted to say I found a yummy chinese restaurant. Chen's over on Juan Tabo just N. o' Central . Not very asthetic but realy good food.

Chen's is good. Very popular with the Base crowd for lunchtime. I like that they don't overcook the stir fry veggies (I like my veggies to have some crunch and flavor rather than the too-common soft/soggy)...

I love Chen's.

Does anyone else experience shitty service on a regular basis at Kelly's on Central? Everytime I go, they fail to wait on us for the first ten minutes, takes around a year to get any food orders, another year to get any food, not to mention I always order something spicy and they hardly EVER come by to fill up my water. I was there for two hours last night, ordered the Posole, and the only time I got my H2O refilled was when I had to waive down our waitress (who was busy talking to another waitress). She spilled water on me when she was picking up my plate too! The water refilling issue happens everytime, even in the summer dining outside when there are hardly any other customers and I was eating an ABQ Turkey! I find myself always resorting to eating my ice! I am not a rude customer so I wasn't rude, I internalized my feelings and vowed not to come when it is busy again!

I hate Kelly's. Bad food, bad service. Every time I have gone it's that way.

OK Thai and Japanese foodies. I've truly found a diamond in the rough. It's a restaurant on Central located between Wyoming and Eubank called Rabieng Thong . If that means awsome food and atmosphere with a wonderful host then they are aptly named. It's in a terribly ugly strip center but the inside of the place is awsome and the food is even better! Coconut Tom Yum soup and Steak lunch are great, going to try their sushi menu next visit. :)

My hubby & I just discovered Rising Star Chinese on San Antonio & Louisiana. They're super friendly there (great service!), and the food is not only tasty but a good value. The atmosphere is nice, too. (Between the two of us, we had egg rolls, hot & sour soup, crab rangoon(sp?), beef lo mein, chicken egg fu yung, kung pao chicken, and sweet & sour pork.) They do take-out as well.

Like many of you, I'm familiar with (and regularly read) Gil's site, for restaurant insight, but I wanted to share another recent discovery with you. allows users to indicate their local restaurant likes/dislikes and also includes user-generated restaurant review content for a number of cities, including Albuquerque. It's pretty easy to use and seems somewhat helpful. Check it out!

Hello Everyone! We've just opened a new restaurant here in Albuquerque, The Blue Cactus Grill, and we're trying to spread the word. We feature traditional New Mexican cuisine with a twist, including emapanada burgers, tequila lime chicken, Green chile ribs and more. Our food is made fresh and we take pride in our plate presentation, all served in a small contemporary atmosphere. Come check us out if you're looking for a change from your typical New Mexican restaurant!

I have to put in a positive word about Cafe Jean Pierre. Fantsatic salad, Fano bread is served, homemade dressings, terrific tender and flavorful steak with veggies served picping hot. So majestically hot that when I had finished my steak the veggies still had heat.. Truly tasteful and affordable. If anyone can make a go of it, this will be the place to make it in that location. Across the lot from the Century Rio 24 off I25.
