For those of you who are interested in arts and crafts, I would like to introduce a project that uses art to fight genocide.
One Million Bones is an arts social practice designed to raise awareness of the mass atrocities and genocides taking place today. OMB will be placing 1 million hand-made bones on the National Mall of Washington D.C. in Spring 2013. We welcome everyone to come into our studio and make bones with Staff and volunteers.
On Saturday, August 27th, One Million Bones will unveiling of a public art installation of 50,000 bones off of Central in downtown Albuquerque! This installation is a preview of our Washington D.C. installation.
This event will be choreographed by Keshet Dance Company, filmed and will be followed by a variety of speakers and a reception. You are welcome to attend as spectators or as volunteers, which we are in need of.
Please join us to support this visual petition to fight current genocides and mass atrocities!
If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact Katie at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (505) 314-1112.
We hope to see you there!
