Burque has a lot of cinder block walls that line streets big and small. They are not pretty. I am interested in starting a public arts process that would incorporate the homeowners and local community in beautifying those walls. This would entail asking property owners if they would like to have their street-facing walls painted/landscaped/retrofitted/familiarized, and then doing the job. It's an idea in its very early stages, and as such depends on some help and input.

Please, either respond to this post or email me at

Let's do this!

PS- Some of the inspiration for this idea came from something similar happening in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.

I've added 2 scarves and half an afghan, but this is what I have been doing lately.
i am especially pleased with the bag I made.

It's not exactly craft, but there is a lot of fashion involved! Come by and celebrate EVERYTHING on Friday Nov 7 at Matrix Fine Art!

Hey crafters. This is about art AND craft - a special studio art sale by a group calling ourselves "Studio She." Five women will be "reducing our inventory" at very friendly prices on Sunday, June 29, from 10am to 7pm. One of the artists is a weaver, another does amazing work from knitting and handmade paper, etc. Some sculpture, and two dimensional work. Come check us out, and see a sweet arty cleverly homemade home while you're there.

Hi - don't know if I'm leaving this comment in the right place. I am a crafter (mostly jewelry) from Texas and Iam going through a painful divorce. I have always wanted to move to New Mexico (for as long as I can remember) So I am looking for someone I can maybe e-mail pen pal with to get a feel for alot of things while I plan this move since I expect it to take me a year or slightly longer to manage it. Thanks anybody!

Hey Crafters--I have a question maybe some of you might know something about. I want to have a sample made of a tote bag with a custom printed/silkscreened canvas fabric. Does anyone know of any local business that does something like this...custom fabric printing and/or custom manufacturing, for samples or really short runs?
