Jenprosser posted this in reply to my pallet house discussion, but I though it should be here on the forum's front page as well.

evil242,
The wildernests are cool. I've stumbled across a few for sale in the past, but they were pretty pricey as I recall (maybe not if you are repairing an old one, though...) Any pics of the work you've done?
I can relate to the love-hate relationship. That's how I feel with my '84 vanagon. We've swapped the engine and done countless improvements and even tried to sell it a few times, but the love outweighs the hate at this point, so she's still around and running great. Still, she's so needy and the work never actually seems to end...

Comment by evil242 on April 11, 2011 at 2:15pm Recent project has been fixing up a wildernest for winter camping.
These things are old and often in disrepair. It has been a love hate relationship ending in love for the most part once I got past the difficult fix up/finding parts phase. More still needs to be done and often times through the project I thought about throwing in the towel and finding a newer and better kept model.
But in the end, everyone has been super impressed with it and it provided the necessary shelter and will continue to do so into the summer months.
