Duke City Fix

Life, food, events, and community in Albuquerque, NM

Does anyone know if we have a functioning LUG in Albuquerque? Results of a Web search indicate that all of them are dead.

Dead. The one in Santa Fe is still going. Want to start one up?

Sure.

Do you want to present on a directory server or something?

That's not me- I'm the cool gadget guy :-) You're probably thinking of Rich.

OMG, don't start a new one, join one of the existing ones (NMLUG and NMOSUG both have functioning mailing lists), and bring it some new energy.

Besides, the Ubuntu LoCo is doing pretty well.

http://www.nmosug.org/ : "Nothing to see here at the moment."
http://nmlug.org/ : Last news item was 2004-03-05 pointing to NMGLUG (Santa Fe).

The nmglug seems to be doing fine, but if there's anything Albuquerque-centric, it's a well hidden secret.

Their sites are dead, but their mailing lists are still somewhat active:

NMLUG list

NMOSUG list

Last post to NMLUG list according to the archive was Sep 2007. Can't tell with NMOSUG since the archives are closed (!).

Umm, I cannot get to NMLUG list archive at all. It redirects to a mailing list for those who have trouble swallowing... Really, http://lists.b9.com/pipermail/nmlug/ does 304 to http://dysphagia.com/maillist/ .

Huh. That's new. OK, I've sent a query off to the list, and hopefully whoever is maintaining it will fix it soon.

(minutes later)

My email to the list did actually show up in my inbox, so looks like it is mainly the archives that are screwed up (although I don't know if subscribing will work).

As I said, these groups could definitely use some new energy.

OK, the redirection has now been fixed, so you should be able to read the NMLUG archives now.

Michael,

This is interesting. I'm curious though, when was the last time you've been to a meeting, and where was it? Maybe the series of tubes fail to deliver the contact information. Care to post URLs for the list archives?

Thanks,

Brendan's assessment is correct as far as actual meetings go (except for the Ubuntu LoCo). The only activity in the NMLUG and NMOSUG groups is the list traffic.
