Hi everyone,
Our family just moved to NM on 12/12/08 after fleeing our home in Maryland. We originally had planned to move out here in 2009, but when we had our home tested for mold, it came back with 10 different molds in high concentration and three of which are toxic.
After throwing everything that we owned away (and I mean everything), my husband sent my children and I out to live here. He is currently living back in Maryland and unable to join us until he can find a proper job that fits his particular skill set.
Here is a link to the company he is currently working for:
He is visiting us until January 5th and then he has to fly back. We are hoping that he will be able to find a job soon, because him being away from the family is crushing everyone's spirits here.
If anyone knows of any green jobs opening up, please let me know. We could really use some direction right about now!
Thanks,
Angela
Angela, I hope your transition goes well. On January 27th there will be an open discussion of 'Getting a Green Job', sponsored by the New Mexico Solar Energy Association. The meeting will be at REI, near I-25 and Montano at 6:30. You can get more info at the website www.NMSEA.org .
I wish you and your family the best.

If I were in his situation, I'd start looking at the provider directory on http://www.nmsea.org/ to see what business are listed, then contact them individually to ask if they're accepting resumes at this time. I know a number of solar installers are anticipating an upswing of business on January 1st when the new tax benefits get into swing. Could mean more people are needed.
Hey - I'm from Maryland too. Been out in ABQ for a couple years now.
I think I saw on Green Building Council's NM chapter's website that in February there is a green job fair. I'm not an expert in the niche, but I've been following a lot of local green businesses and would be happy to email / chat w/ you to see if something might spark an idea for you (as to the type of local company you'd hope to work with).
