Hi there,

I'm a beginner knitter new to Purls of Wisdom. Does your group still meet every now and then? I'd love to join!

Get your needles out and get ready for World Wide Knit in Public Day (more like 2 weekends) WWKiP Day 2009 Dates: the 13th & 14th as well as the 20th & 21st of June

what kind of pattern is it for? It could be an error. I once had one like that. The numbers didn't add up and I later learned it was a typo in the directions.

K1, M1, K1......Make 1 every other stitch. 12+6=18. (I think) hope this helps

They meet at Napoli every sat at 1. Flying Star on silver is on and off. Sun at 1. Its kind of a renegade offshoot , but its alot of fun. I just pop in and check as I live near the FS. There is a yahoo group they belong to and sometimes they will post if some of them will be at FS

The Napoli group is a lot of fun and there are some amazing knitters there. They are an older crowd than the tues night Rio Grande Flying Star group, which I tried.
I dont usually make it up to Napoli but when I found out they met at Flying Star on silver, its in my hood so I can just bike over.
They all belong to a yahoo knitting group which they really dont use for anything but messages. Like who will be knitting on sunday at FS.

Something is very wrong with that picture. They want you to "fit in" with the other drones. If you are creative and/or dance to the beat of different drummer, you might make them uncomfortable.

I mentioned earlier today how I was asked to put my knitting away at a business meeting. It was actually before the meeting started. It just occurred to me that others in the meeting tapped on their Blackberries throughout the meeting and no one said a thing. Something is wrong with this picture.

I might try to go tomorrow, Tuesday night, to Flying Star on Rio Grande and Griegos, to see if the group that used to meet there is still there. I was told to put down my knitting at a meeting at work today.
Is that some kind of discrimination?

There is a great knitting group that meets at Napoli coffee house on Saterday at 1......they usually go on until 4. Then some of them meet again on Sun at Flying Star on silver. They are very active, its not hit or miss with them. They are going to have alot of cool demos this coming sat.
