Hi everyone! It's been a long time! I'm so happy to see that this group is so popular. I'm here to today to put a plug in for all animal lovers who are looking for the best places in ABQ to hang out with their best friends. Paws, Up, Albuquerque! is a new review site "written" by a dog (along with some guest posts by her friends, a cat and a horse!) about all of the places you can go with your four-legged friend, as well as the best places to shop, events to attend, and more! We are just starting up, but I hope that everyone is entertained by the reviews, and any suggestions about places to visit are more than welcome!

Just thought I'd stop by and introduce myself :) I have three cats of my own, all rescues, and I take care of a feral cat colony here in ABQ. I love all animals, but have a special "warm and fuzzy" place in my heart for cats. :)

UPDATE:
We were able to find the owner of the cute and happy black kitten, who became even more cute and happy when reunited with his owner. All is well, and thanks to those who offered advice and support.

Thanks Sarah, that sure beats the $200 for Watermelon Mountain Ranch. That said, they're getting along OK right now. Both are sleeping in the same room, so there's hope.

Andy, if options 1 through 3 are a no go, you can bring the kitten to Animal Humane on 615 Virginia. There is a $35 fee to surrender the cat, but that covers the neuter, microchip, kitten shots, etc. Kittens are usually adopted within 3 to 5 days of being put up for adoption.

I sent this as a message to the group, but wanted others to have a chance to see it also. Thanks.

Hi everyone, my wife and I were walking home last night and we befriended a little black kitten, probably about six months old and he followed us home. We thought maybe it would work with our other cat, but our other cat is really not enjoying this new experience.
So, three questions:
1. Is anyone missing a little black kitten, really adorable. We found him on Harvard between Silver and Lead.
2. Does anyone want said black kitten. He really is cute and fun.
3. If the answers to 1 and 2 are no and no, then does anyone know a good way to help cats transition and get along better? The old cat is the one having the issues. The new cat is just fine, of course.
4. If the answers to 1-3 are no, no and no, then does anyone know of a good place to take a little kitten, preferably a no-kill shelter?

Thanks to all.

There was this ferral cat that left kitties in my folks gurage April 1st, my parents ha dbeen feeding the kitty because they heard her crying, found homes for the kitties and I trapped the mama cat and had her spayed and relesed her, ever since then the mama cat came by and my folks fed her and she started to warm up to them, they went away for a week and I went by and checked on the house and fed the mama cat as is slept in the shade in the back yard. I haven't seen it for 3 days and my sister says that a gray cat comes by also. Ferral cats have a very precarious life, but I was wondering if there is a way to find out if animal control tracks remains they pick up, the mama cat had half a tail, had her ear notched to show she had been spayed, and is black with a small triangle shaped head. the cat capturedmy feelings because I didn't know kitties could have kittens and I with the help of animal friends got her fixes to there would be no more kittens but I will always wonder what happened to her

My amazing sweet cat Haldir. I rescued him at 5 months old. He had already had 4 different homes. He is the sweetest most quirky and awesome cat. my boyfriend is deathly allergic cats so I was worried when I snuck him home. But he is not allergic to Haldir. Thats why I say he was meant for us :D <3

Hit the Cat Show at Expo NM Sunday. Tiny but fun. This alien's eyes tried to steal my soul.
