Hello Everyone,
On Saturday, August 7th, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Albuquerque Partnership and the National Hispanic Cultural Center (4th Street) is hosting an Educational Forum ¡Español!
¡Juntos Podemos¡ Will celebrate education while making a call to Action to our Latino and Hispano families to be fully engaged in the education of our children and families. Family involvement will make a significant difference in addressing the Latino/Hispano Education crisis and decreasing dropout rates for Albuquerque and New Mexico as a whole.
Following the forum will be a Back to School Fair sponsored by ENLACE.
If you would like more information, regarding the event, please call the Albuquerque Partnership @ 247-9222. It’s free and for the community, but space is limited.
We need several volunteers to help with activities for the youth. Many of the activities are set, you just have to come engage and monitor the youth from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The youth will be from the ages of 7-13 many who come from bilingual families. If you are interested, please contact Maryann Andres, mandres@unm.edu or (719) 651-9438. Hope to see you there.
