right now I'm mostly writing excuses for why I'm so behind on everything. (I'm teaching two sections of English 102 -- 44 students and a hell of a lot of grading. When I do write, I write fiction. sort of John Updike-ish post-9/11 stuff.

Biomedical sciences! Nice! I wish I had the math skills for something like that.

I think there's a thing you can get for that MMR dealio that will save you the hassles. They asked me for all that stuff when I transferred over to UNM. Made it sound like I wouldn't be admitted to classes without it. I've yet to, though

Ok, Princess Bride is up there, but a classic??? Would Hitchcock agree? Perhaps.

I also really like Snatch, and several of the Shyamalens - Being in Psych, and having more enjoyment of magical thinking than (maybe) I should, means I really dug Sixth Sense. Being in Sociology (with sprinkling of anthro, etc.,) meant I really liked the Village - they made their own Devil - we just can't be happy for long can we?

It reminds me of Agent Smith in Matrix - they tried to give us a perfect world but we would not sleep thru it :) He was an interesting fellow too - the most advanced 'agent' who could not stand the *smell* of humans - olfaction and emotion - very ev psych...

I still haven't seen Crash or Whale Rider yet - I get moody with movies, even when I KNOW I will like them.

Just filled out 10 pages of paper work for the GA/RA position - sheesh! Housing next. Ugh. WIll need a happy movie (or one of the Terminators) after all that.

I also have to get MMR vaccinations because i don't have my paper work from high school - my Mom threw it away years ago - I did not expect to need such things at age 50...

Oh, yeah. Crash for sure -- which makes me think of Sideways which I got at the same time. Adaptation was amazing. Breakfast at Tiffany's. I believe falls in the Classics category, as does Princess Bride.

I agree with you about Sociology, Nova. I did it as an online class, but it was one of my favorites.

Movies in no particular order:
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind (Basically anything Charlie Kaufman or Michel Gondry)
The Big Lebowski (Basically anything Coen Bros)
Snatch
Anything by M. Night Shyamalan (I know, I know. But I "get" his stuff.)
American Beauty
Dances with Wolves
Rob Roy
Like Nova, I'm leaving out the major Classics (like Casablanca, or the Maltese Falcon, or anything by Hitchcock.)
