Beautifiers to arms!  A tree was just chopped down in front of the old Objects of Desire Store on Central.  The story is still unfolding but it's clear that the city owns the spot the tree was on and the people working in the opening-soon Savvy boutique were wielding the chainsaw.

Does anyone here have any site suggestions for public art? Public art projects can improve Albuquerque's urban landscape, build community and help with place-making initiatives...Any thoughts on potential sites that could use a public art piece?

Great idea. City is making progress (lots of attractive low water landscaping) but needs to do so much more, especially in terms of the far too numerous highway billboards and horrific in town store signage. It's too bad the development hasn't matched or complemented the natural beauty of the area.

Hi all, I recently joined this group and look forward to talking with everyone here. Born and raised here, love to see community improvements!

Sure, I'm in - plenty of blight to observe here - places that look like border towns down south. Good luck, and keep me posted. Thanks!
