who is Bob Ames?

Posted on May 18, 2008 at 12:20pm 0 Comments

Last week, I started receiving very lengthy emails from someone named Bob Ames. I have no idea who he is or how he got my email addy. The letters are in English and Dutch. I have tried to research this fellow, but I am not making a lot of progress. Does anyone know who he is? Are others getting emails from him?

Hey Skippy and greetings from Nob Hill Yoga, which is definitely NOT in Nob Hill.  Thanks for the comment!  We started in Nob Hill but moved in December, but since we have the trademark for Nob Hill Yoga, well... it goes where we go!  Beyond that, to me, Nob Hill is not only geographical to ABQ (or San Francisco), but it's more of an idea of quality and a gracious way of operating. That's our hope at NHY -- even if we're out of the neighborhood. Hey, come join us sometime!

P.S. Doesn't it seem like the border of Nob Hill just keep expanding?  Growing up here, it definitely didn't reach all the way to Lomas!  I reckon there'll be a "Nob Hill something or another" at Tramway and Indian School any day now.  Peace!

I don't know why I suddenly remembered it, or why I suddenly feel compelled to tell you, but when I was in middle school I more or less taught myself how to program in QBASIC. One of the first games I tried to write was about a guinea pig named Skippy who tried unsuccessfully to escape from the pet store.

Even if I'd managed to focus long enough to put any effort into the programming, it still probably would've been a terrible, terrible game, even if I'd gone back in time to 1985 to try to market it.

Thanks for your comment on the blog. We came here from Portland but are more than ready for a drier climate and abundant sunshine. And thunderstorms with lightning! We've missed those!

Skippy, did I mention that I'm 6-foot-9, 210 pounds, and can slam dunk a basketball...oh, er, just kiddin'...I'm not 6-9...anyway, if Carolina wins, you can take your chump change, buy a home in Michigan, and catch the Magic Man when he comes home for his 50th NCAA hoops celebration in 2029. ;-)
Take care,

I'm going w/Michigan State, too. I pulled for Larry Bird against Magic in the NCAA, because Larry and his Indiana State team played New Mexico State home and home every year and NMSU had a team good enough to hang with them. Also, Michigan has been particularly hard hit by the depression and the auto problems and the state deserves an uplifting experience about now. Glory be, that was 1979! How flies time.

I didn't get anything done on your interview in Walsenberg or since I got back, so now it is me apologizing for being late. I have read it and liked it.
The photograph sounds wonderful IF I am able to use photographs. The more I write the fewer photographs there will be. If there are very few photographs that won't be considered probably based on merit--but if it's a great photo it might make it on content. Does that make any sense?
