This is an actual photograph from the Sandia Chair Lift. Using a technique called Tilt-Shift in Photoshop, gives the illusion of a miniature model.

More Than Meets The Eye!

The film industry is growing and evolving here in New Mexico. CNM offers classes to get you started in the film industry. In fact it’s my understanding that most students are hired before they complete their certificate. Big budget projects are being filmed here in New Mexico, like the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”. Did anyone here on DCF have the opportunity to work on this… Continue

HD Converter Box Cameras!

I purchased a Magnavox HD converter box from Wal-Mart and I'm wondering, is there a camera in the box? My friend has an RCA HD converter box and it is much smaller in size. I’m not going to take the box apart because I don’t want to possibly damage the box and not have the ability to watch TV. What do you think, is there a camera in the box?… Continue

I forgot, we also got hits on Cheetos!
I don’t have a boat, so I rarely fish the lakes. I have fished the spillways and the streams and we usually have luck with worms, corn and powerbait. I wonder if the release of water has something to do with the poor conditions. The worst day fish...
Charlie, there was a similar discussion a few weeks ago on this same subject. It’s interesting how there seems to be a consensus occurring as to the future of free radio. Now there is some discussion about a performance tax? It’s apparent that the...

Fellow NM Photographer!
Just a quick note to invite you to Karl Koenig's opening at the Inpost Art Space (at the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale SE) this coming Friday evening, 5-8. Karl is a talented photographer who makes images mostly of nature and architecture, the world round. The show will focus on his large format gumoil photographs, a process that he pioneered himself about 20 years ago. The prints are hand pigmented, resulting in amazingly vibrant photographs with a wondrous, almost catastrophic fairy tale quality. I find them highly affecting and unique.

My fellow curator Rob Thalmann and I plan to focus heavily on local photography during our 2 year term there at the Outpost, and this is just the tip of the iceberg for us. Maybe we could even do a DCF photographer's group show there?

Come see the show on the 5th!
