Where I Live:: University area

About Me:: For the last 12 years, I have been an independent licensed residential contractor, then this year I started as a kitchen designer for Poulin Design and Remodeling and 5 Day Kitchens. I am inspired by tile and spend lots of time looking at faucets, fixtures, lighting, hardware and cabinets. I love what I do, and feel very lucky that I get to make some money being creative.

I am married to my best friend, Erik. We have a house and yard that we could work on full time for the next five years, but it's got "lots of potential!"

I am a 4th generation New Mexican. I grew up in "Hippieland" Placitas, then left to explore to Denver and San Diego for a few years, but in 2000, the Land of Entrapment beckoned me back with my husband in tow!

Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:: You can be who you are, most people here don't care what that is, I can talk to people in grocery stores and they don't freak out, and I could start my own business.

Cute clothes stores in Albuquerque for a wedding outfit?

We're going to a wedding at the end of the month and I need an outfit. The wedding is semi-formal, and it's happening at the ski lodge of Winter Park Resort in Colorado. I have a budget of probably $100. I'm also a new mom, so baby friendly is essential, and stylish-esque would be nice. Any non-mall ideas of where to go tomorrow afternoon?

Yay, I had my baby! February 21st at 2:53 AM, my little Kaden Zachary came into the world. I had a home birth, and I was only in labor for 7 hours with no complications for me or him. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 14 oz and 19 3/4" long.

I am still recovering, which has been fairly rough, but am totally thankful that I didn't have to deal with any medical interventions, and that I've been able to be home since his birth.

I am less than 4 weeks from my "due date" and since last September I have been keeping a blog. This week I posted an update on my last minute remodel to our Master Bathroom. Nothing like a contractor to decide that it's a good idea to start a remodel in her 8th month of pregnancy. What can I say, maybe the chemicals got to my brain after all these years.

Oh Giant yard and Giant House

Almost 2 years ago my hubby and I bought this giant house on a huge lot in the UNM North Golf Course neighborhood, with the dream of it someday being Grand Central Station for us and our future children. In truth, it is ridiculously oversized for two people, but I'm a contractor and designer, and I couldn't help but see loads of potential both for our family and as an investment.

I know there was a post a few days ago about Sophia's being on 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives' and I responded to say that I knew the show would be filming at The Standard Diner on Central as well. I checked out a bit more of your blog and I think we knew each other growing up in placitas and playing soccer.
