Good morning, peeps. I suppose for most of you out there it is back to the grind today. Grab a cup of coffee, like me (today drinking some Joe from Trader Joe's, damn good brew for a very reasonable $3.49 a can). Let's get to the uber depressing haps...
As I write this is it about 3:15 in the morning and I have not gone to bed yet, but I did celebrate the new year in the company of friends, indulging in champagne at midnight and some fan-friggin-tastic ritualistic shots of brandy with sugar and coffee coated limes (it was pretty fun) and giving the kids sparkling cider and letting them crash wherever they fell. Scanning the news channels is pretty uneventful this morning.
Before I get to the haps, I would be remiss not to mention that this is the last day of the year, and the last day of the decade, as well. I began this decade as the mother of a toddler, pregnant with my second child, and am wrapping it up with four great kids. What do you get when you buy a new washing machine? A dead dryer, that's what. Yes, I went to switch loads earlier and thought, "huh, I thought I started the dryer." Turned it on again and came back later to cold, wet clothes. Bummer. Anyone out there know anyone good at fixing things that are large and run on electrical power? I need help!
