About Me:: Hi, I'm Christopher. I moved from the Washington, D.C area to Albuquerque in October of 2007. I love to read (theology, philosophy, poetry, fiction, history), I listen to music of all genres, and I enjoy thought-provoking films (especially international cinema). I am a Christian in the Reformed theological stream, which from what I have seen, makes me a distinct minority on DCF, but I digress! :-) I am a member of Desert Springs Church. I have friends of varying religious/spiritual beliefs (and no professed beliefs), and this fact is not at all in opposition to my faith. I like challenging, stimulating conversation. I have a physical disability and am unable to drive, which has significantly impacted my life thus far in Albuquerque. I will probably post about this dynamic here! I look forward to joining the DCF conversations!

What I'm Reading:: English Standard Version Study Bible, Jonathan Edwards: A Life, by George Marsden, Letter to a Christian Nation, by Sam Harris (not as challenging as I had expected), Every Thought Captive, by Richard L. Pratt, Jr., The Gospel and Personal Evangelism, by Mark Dever (my former pastor in D.C.), and various assorted poets, book reviews and culture/music sites. Patrolmag.com is a current favorite.

What I'm Listening To:: "What am I not listening to?" would be more accurate! :-) Shostakovich, Earth, Wind, and Fire (the harder mid-70s funk stuff!), late '60s/early 70s-era Chicago (when they actually rocked!), Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Wilco, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Juliana Hatfield, Eels, Delta Spirit, Son Lux, Serena Maneesh, The New Frontiers, Shai Linne, Timothy Brindle, Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett, Shearwater, Fleet Foxes, and so, so many others....
