Where's that confounded BRIDGE? Bond election TOMORROW!

Posted on October 3, 2011 at 3:52pm 0 Comments

Mayor Barry and about half of our city council have put forth an AQB Bond Issue that goes to voters TOMORROW, October 4th.

Half of the money would go towards the START of rebuilding the I-25/Paseo del Norte Interchange (Including improved bike trails and pedestrian access) and half the money would go towards the start of building a Sports Complex.

My feeling, as a Resident, a Realtor, and someone who has learned a fair amount about ABQ development over the past 5 years... is…

GMO issue at the New Mexico state legislature 2011

UPDATE: Due to a strong lobbying push from the large corporations that patent and market these GMOs, and the fact that the NM Chili Association is "in-bed" with these corporations, this bill was LOST on the house floor in the week following this post.

ON SHOULD KNOW: That, aside from permenently invading native, natural seed stock, one of the huge dangers of…

The Urban Farmhouse

Posted on September 13, 2010 at 2:56pm 0 Comments

I'm watching some HGTV show about renovating and old farmhouse property in upstate New York. While it's a truely enchanting home and property, It always distubs me a bit when city folks "renovate" and old country house on a budget of $600,000 - demolishing the vast majority of the charm and original detail - does it really say "farm"? Will it ever BE a farm again?

Driving down Rio Grande Blvd, taking in all the McMansion ex-farmettes,… Continue

Hi Crista, My name is Lora Roberts. I work for the MRCOG (Mid-Region Council of Governments) Agriculture Collaborative, which hosts Local Food NM here as well as on Facebook. We've been going through a bit of a transition in the last few months as one of our key employees moved out of state, and I joined the team.
Our Facebook page, and our website (links below), are where we post most of our information at this point. But the goal is to get back in to making this site more active. We have an events calendar on the website that lists a lot of what's going on in Abq. The Facebook page is a great resource since we post, but so do other community members and organizations.

Our website: http://www.mrcog-nm.gov/agriculture-mainmenu-55
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Local-Food-in-New-Mexico/208572240771?ref=ts

Feel free to contact me if you have questions (localfoodnm@mrcog-nm.gov). Or if you're not already subscribed to our monthly e-newletter, please do by visiting this page:

Good morning Crista, it's so wonderful to here from you again. You did find me again and, you are lovely beyond reason as usual. You still have many things to say that inspire me ever onward. I'll try and show you some of my artwork from my upcoming show on 3/14/09. The title is,"Black, White and Red all over". It's going to be great, I have many amazing artist friends joining me and, I made it so that we could only use black, white, grey and red in our pieces...no pinks though, only true red or darker. I'm excited but, working hard to finish my last two paintings before we have to hang the show in 1 1/2 weeks. It's hard to find the time with life away from my art desk always calling me back. I'll get a hold of you on facebook, as I look at that often...maybe we can chat on it back and forth once in a while. If I'm on, you should try and catch me. I've got to run Crista but, I love you much and will talk to you soon I hope.
Love,
~Troy
