Now Venus. Is the 4th time the charm?

I hate to say here we go again - but... this time it's the Venus Traverse.First image is on my blog with link to larger image.  I suspect I will be able to get even better shots as the sun approaches the horizon and we get a sunset with the traverse at the same time.Larger images and links will be at…See More

Rainbows in the Sandias

Posted on June 25, 2013 at 12:01pm 0 Comments

I suppose its as good of a time as any to finish up a project that has centered around my wanderings in the Sandias.  Cut off from the trails I've finally finished the uploading and publishing of a series of slideshows that showcase the wildflowers of the Sandias.

They come in all the colors of the…

Supermoon over Albuquerque

Posted on June 23, 2013 at 12:00pm 0 Comments

I grabbed a couple of shots of the "Supermoon" last night, one series I took about midnight and the second as the moon was setting just before 6am.

The other images are over on my main blog,…

The Sun and Moon Have Been At it Again

Posted on June 4, 2012 at 1:30pm 1 Comment

Last night marks the second week since the big eclipse event in Albuquerque.  That means that the moon moved to the opposite side of the playground and another eclipse happened, this time a partial of the full moon.

Reading about the event in a news story last night I prepped my equipment so everything would be ready at 4:30am when I was to crawl out of bed and see if there was anything worth shooting.

I was glad I was ready for the event, for when my wife…

Fellow NM Photographer!
Just a quick note to invite you to Karl Koenig's opening at the Inpost Art Space (at the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale SE) this coming Friday evening, 5-8. Karl is a talented photographer who makes images mostly of nature and architecture, the world round. The show will focus on his large format gumoil photographs, a process that he pioneered himself about 20 years ago. The prints are hand pigmented, resulting in amazingly vibrant photographs with a wondrous, almost catastrophic fairy tale quality. I find them highly affecting and unique.

My fellow curator Rob Thalmann and I plan to focus heavily on local photography during our 2 year term there at the Outpost, and this is just the tip of the iceberg for us. Maybe we could even do a DCF photographer's group show there?

Come see the show on the 5th!

Great photos!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work, but please don't electrocute yourself. It would make your spouse very unhappy.
