The Duke City
About Me:
As the state’s premiere running event, the New Mexico Cancer Center Duke City Marathon is the largest and longest running marathon in the history of the state of New Mexico. A qualifier for the Boston Marathon as well as the New Mexico State Championship for the Marathon and Half Marathon, the New Mexico Cancer Center Duke City Marathon attracts thousands of runners from all over the state, country and world. For the sixth consecutive year, the event benefits the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation.

As part of the event weekend, the Duke City Marathon hosts a pre-race family health expo and packet pick-up, called FitFest: Powered By Defined Fitness, to kick off the event. The FitFest and packet pick-up will take place at the Albuquerque Convention Center in the Southwest exhibit hall on October 16th, 2010. It includes fitness demonstrations, workshops, conditioning classes, a variety of vendors and last minute registration.

On Sunday during the Duke City Marathon events, post-race festivities take place on civic plaza, which will include various booth vendors, food and entertainment on stage. Last year over 10,000 people were in attendance and participated in the event! Register now at www.DukeCityMarathon.com.

Event Races are as follows:

Marathon - 7 a.m.

Marathon Relay (five-member teams; various categories)- 7 a.m.

5k Run – 7:10 a.m.
