I currently rent from Sky. Maintenance is getting better. They'll get out the next day, normally. They sent out groundskeepers twice this year! That's more than in the three years I've been here. My carpet is like '70s office carpet, but I've seen t…

They are both about the same time and distance to the big I, rentals may be a little more affordable in Cedar Crest, but again what is your budget? I can help you find a rental in either place.

thanks, good info. I love the mountains, and the snow, but maybe best to land someplace in town, and then start looking in earnest. Thx again.

thanks for all replies. Especially about cats and commuting.

If I remember from your earlier question about where to live, you have cats that you want to let out of doors. You can count on them disappearing in the jaws or claws of a predator if you live in either area. Also, how much time do you want to spend…

Apologies if this is the 2nd time posting this, but I don't see the one I posted about 4 hours ago. Just seeking info about either of these places as rental possibilities, and also about what a commute from them into Alb might be like, if anyone has…

So right Hairy. But then Jane I guess you like snow or you could not have taken Taos all these years. I vote for Bernalillo. I have heard its very tight and difficult to either rent or buy. 14 yrs ago when I was looking for a place I really liked Be…

Hi Jane, welcome to ABQ. You might check out Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, just north of the North Valley. Some parts are expensive some are not. And don't freak out too much about neighbors and evil intentions towards your cats! I live in Fringecrest…

Hey Jane! We have a Housing group stocked with experts to discuss issues like this one. Please try your request again there. The General Discussion forum is supposed to be about Albuquerque, and this strikes me as more of a combo national/personal q…

I'm scanning Craigslist daily for rentals, and there are a few rent-to-own type deals. I just wonder if anyone has experience with these L20s or knows how they work. Thanks!

Thanks very much, I'll do some checking into which are the unincorporated areas in Bernalillo County.

Thank you so much, dolores, great tip. I'll be down there on Sunday, and will find La Montanita.

Hi Jane, Saw this at the BB at the Rio Grande Flying Star. Weird angle is because a male basketball player must have posted it. No date on it. Thought of you. My sister lived in Taos -- actually in a trailer outside of Taos, gorgeous spot; she loved it but couldn't make a decent living. Your posts caught my eye! Good luck -- if I see anything when I am around and about I will let you know.

Hi Jane,
My name is Lynn and this is my very first post to this site. I picked you because I have a daughter named Jane (my favorite actually) and I wanted to get started here. I lived in Albuquerque 20 years ago and now my husband and I want to move there in retirement. I'm sure the neighborhoods have changed a lot in the past 20 years so I'm looking for updated info on where to look for a house in the $400,000 range. I have a cat, like gardening, peace and quiet, beautiful natural surroundings, and good neighbors. Can you give me any insight into the Rio Rancho vibe (that's where all the listings seem to be coming up) or direct me to someone who can?
Thank you, Lynn
