as a former smoker of 11 years, i still abhor the scent of cigarette/cigar/pipe smoke. it makes me feel nauseous, and it frustrates me when i have to walk through a cloud of smoke just to go indoors. it's a personal choice to smoke, but it becomes...

Leaves

So I called the magic number 311 and asked when the city picks up leaves and yard waste. "Twice a year". Huh?
Ok, in all fairness, I have heard this before, but I guess I was hoping the times had changed. "Let me look that up for you." Fingers crossed, I was hoping for an October pick-up, but November is ok. "The next pick up is scheduled for December."

Excuse me? I am pretty sure there is this season called Fall or Autumn...it's when the leaves fall off the trees. No offense, but this seems so… Continue

who the heck are you?

oh, right. introduce myself. ok. here goes:

I am Jason. just turned 30 and still a kid at heart. curious and in love with life. enjoy mosaic-making, crafting, learning stuff, painting, gardening, laughing, ddr, music (classical and musicals, folk and jazz, 80's and other stuff). Open-minded, friendly, shy sometimes. I love glitter!

Oh, and I identify as transgender. I was born female, but mostly ID as trans. Sometimes male. Never "man". Just Jason.

Totally open to talking about that aspect of… Continue

Painted Gardens

So my friend and I are starting a business - finally doing what we love! We are a painting (mostly interior) and gardening (got weeds?) venture. We are also handy with a variety of things (dry wall repair, cleaning, and soon to be plastering). But our main focus is painting and gardening. Spring clean-up/weeding/raking/pruning/planting - tending the earth. And painting - we love to paint! We are also mosaic savvy and will be learning more about tile installation.

We are honest, reliable, punctu… Continue

Hi Jason,
Have you ever laid brick? We want to put brick down in our hallway and bedroom. Will probably buy it from Kinney Brick. Let me know if that's something you do. Also, do you know Holly, who also does tile/mosaic? She sells her tiles at the Growers' Market on Rio Grande. - Jill

Hi Jason,
Simeone Gardenaire said you may have need for some fill dirt for your landscaping business. We scraped away some dirt that was under a concrete pad we removed, and now we need to get rid of it. Please let me know if you could use it.
Thanks, Nancy

Well, I like you a whole lot! Thurna and Lucy Diamond and Boots and I go to the river every tuesday evening and sunday afternoon if you want to bring that little dog of yours along. (Lucy Diamond and Tilly-Stole-My-Heart-Boots do get a little rough, but Jake could see what he thought about it all).
enjoy the afternoon,
sara

oh, you are welcome to an old sink from the yard if you want to do a mosaic project. I think there are a few of them around still, I once had the notion that I was going to make em and sell em...
