"I wholeheartedly agree, The Bindi Queen! One should not forget about Cafe Istanbul! Shostsie, judging from the sound system (and stack of hookahs) it seems like at least someone throws parties in the tent."

Profile Information

Where I Live:
Somewhere Between Campus and Downtown
About Me:
I've lived around the country, but was always trying to find a way to get to the desert. Now I travel the back roads and wide-open highways of the state as often as I can, looking for ghost towns and other bits of history left forgotten in the dust.
Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:
Culturally rich and well-positioned between mesa and mountain. Also, easily-navigated.
My Website:

What I'm Reading:
Empire of the Summer Moon. Apparently life on the frontier of Mexico, Texas, and New Mexico was a little dicey.

Albuquerque has an embarrassment of good restaurants. This past Sunday we had planned to visit a local eatery, but they were closed. It was simply no matter. Alternatives abound and we can always return to the original place later.…

Downtown's Madonna of the Trail

Maybe I’m just imagining it, but it seems like there are a lot of monuments to various and sometimes obscure causes and personages scattered around Albuquerque. Many of these are quite old and have been moved a time or two from their original locations, usually ending up in someplace a bit more…quiet, shall we…
