Profile Information

Where I Live:
In Albuquerque on the West side. I travel between Seattle, Michigan and Albuquerque.
About Me:
I'm an artist, I specialize in landscapes and oil portraits. I've been married almost 3 decades and have 2 grown children who also live in Albuquerque. My pets died this year so I'm pet-less now.
Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:
The sun, the desert and the incredible smell in the air in the morning, the green chilis on everything, the sandals, the casual clothes, the art that appears everywhere-out of nowhere it seems, seeing 150 miles off into the distance, the volcanos to the West, the Sandias in the morning and evening sun, the spanish music, the old churches, red chilis on houses, adobe homes, blue skies always, the crazy wind, insanely heavy rainstorms and then bright sun an hour later, lightning!!, the road system is laid out well, the food.

"Flow of Life" 17x23" oil on canvas"Chicken, One" 18x24" oil on canvasI've been traveling a ton lately. I'm in Seattle right now, heading to California in a few weeks, and missing my home in Albuquerque like CRAZY. I walked in the blowing wind, cold and grey and rainy today in Seattle while talking to my daughter who was out walking in the desert in Albuquerque, by our house...also windy, but hot and sunny. Makes me miss home all the more.I'm looking forward to a long month at home sometime in…See More

"Charlie" 14x16" oil

The above portrait didn't photograph well because it's so wet. The greens seem to reflect light a lot...and not in a good way, in this case.

I got to spend some time working for Paula Manning-Lewis at the Chroma Gallery today. It was a fine day! Blue skies, warm sunshine and the birds were singing. Who could ask for more in… Continue

Albuquerque Airport

I just had to post this picture of the airport when I dropped my husband off so he could fly to Seattle to work. This is a stranger..don't know who it is, but they were the only car behind us when we stopped to unload. There were only 3 cars in front of us.

In Seattle, where my husband will eventually get off the plane, there will probably be about 100 cars out front in the 4 or 5 lanes the pass the front of the airport, and in… Continue

So GOOD to be home!!!!

It's so wonderful to be home working in my own studio again. There aren't enough exclamation points to cover that statement. Every day it's been cool but sunny. I saw from experience, New Mexico is truly one of the best states in this country to spend a winter in. We do a lot of travel to Michigan and Seattle, and between the two, it's usually grey skies and either snow or rain, or both.…

Getting ready to spend all of the 23rd flying back to Albuquerque from Michigan, where I've been for 10 day. My husband has to take 4 planes and I have to take 3...mercifully, I am the one that gets a straight flight at least to Salt Lake City. In SL City though, it's snowing. We're hoping we won't get stuck there. I'm tired of travel and ready to get back to my house. Can't wait.

I'm looking forward to spending the next 5 1/2 weeks or so eating as many green chilies as I can get my… Continue
