I went to Taj Mahal because it's won "best of" awards but I was super disappointed by how mediocre the food was. The restrooms were the filthiest I've seen since cheap, dive restaurants in student ghetto days - really gross - as in not cleaned in ...

Love these pictures. I moved right down the road from Los Poblanos over a year ago but forgot all about visiting. I'm going to check it out this weekend.

I have to admit all the typos leave me feeling at some level that it's quite possible that prices in the market will be mismarked or that specials I see in a flyer might be last week's no longer on sale this week....etc. As an English Lit major w...

It would've been way better to leave the R in. I would've just thought they were real old timers.

I second that. meh with a shoulder shrug on the food at Menaul and Bernalillo. The red chile on my Huevos a month ago tasted like it was thickened with flour or cornstarch and that's just wrong.

Okay -- I have a for-now fix: click on the link at the top of the post, rather than on the title.

Wow! Thanks for letting me know -- that's super-weird. I'll see if I can figure it out!

Thanks Kimm.
My dad quit for 45 years and still loved the smell. I appreciate your words though. This is my third time to quit. The encouragement is good. This is the first time I tried Chantrix, and it is easier. I forget about it for hours and hours if I am busy.

Thanks for your nice comment and friend add. I had been thinking about photographing some of the trees and other things in my neighborhood right before you posted. It's cool when others see the same beauty that you see. Peace.

I know a few people who got cold feet on that site. It is safe, but hard to understand. If I didn't know how the old site worked I never would have figured it out. I would be happy to walk you through it on the phone if you would like. What's unfortunate is the old site was easy to understand and worked just fine. Why are people always fixing what's not broke? Message me and I'll send you my phone number, or you can find me in the phone book.

The back road from here to there

When I lived in Santa Fe - it was the back road to Albuquerque. Now that I'm here - it's the back road to Santa Fe. But you know something? IMO - despite any sibling city rivalry - here's one instance where the grass is green on both sides of the fence. Lucky us!

Having lived both… Continue

Junction Cave

Mostly I really like my work as a web developer. There are side effects though. The work is 100% mental and can be all consuming. When deadlines loom it can eat up whole nights and weekends. A juicy logic problem can easily seduce me into working long past the smart time to quit. Latel… Continue

Fun @ the UNM campus / Cheap Thrills

I realize the perspective might be different for folks who've lived here all their lives or who went to school at UNM but as an outsider fresh to the scene, I had a lot of fun ambling around the UNM campus for several hours last Sunday.

Paseo del Bosque Trail - one of the many things I love about my neighborhood and city

I moved to NM in 1992 and spent 8 pretty good years in Santa Fe. If I'm totally honest I was a Santa Fe snob (in my ignorance.) Then in 2000 I escaped Santa Fe and moved to Abiquiu where I spent 2 really glorious years living on the Rio Chama. After that, continuing the northward movement, I dug my feet in north of Taos, and spent two years living out on the Hondo mesa in… Continue
