Frontier Owners Didn't Contribute to Prop 8

Posted on November 17, 2008 at 5:26pm 22 Comments

Fear not, Burquenos, if you support gay marriage you don't have to stop eating Frontier rolls.

It all started with Jim Baca writing that the owners of Frontier and Golden Pride were on the list of Prop 8 donors. (He later retracted the comments, see below)

Duke City Fix freaked out that the gay marriage ban opposers at… Continue

A First Timer's Account of the DNC

Posted on August 30, 2008 at 5:21pm 3 Comments

Going to a national political convention is unlike anything else. Everywhere one turns, there are stories ready to be and interesting characters to interview. In other words, to call it a carnival would be a gross understatement.

Third Congressional District candidate Ben Ray Lujan walked through the Big Tent. A TV station from Spain interviewed Ben Ray Lujan -- then turned around and interviewed… Continue

My time at the Barack Obama Event

Posted on June 24, 2008 at 12:30am 14 Comments

Barack Obama visited the Flying Star on Broadway in Albuquerque early Monday afternoon to speak with working women. I was lucky enough to get a press credential and be allowed to cover the event. Even though, while I work, I am not, nor have ever been, a woman.

I got some really good pictures of the event. Click on any of the… Continue

Tomorrow, I'm Voting for Barack Obama

Posted on February 4, 2008 at 8:57pm 0 Comments

Tomorrow in New Mexico, we will join nearly two dozen other states in

voting for our choice for the Democratic candidate. The field has been

winnowed down to just two contenders, Senator Barack Obama and Senator

Hillary Clinton. Both Barack Obama candidates

are good choices, and would be not only a vast improvement over the

current President, but would offer a better choice by far than… Continue

Barack Obama: "The More Americans Prosper, The More America Prospers"

We can transform this economy, we can transform this country, we can transform this world.

Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama stopped by for a visit to New Mexico. And this wasn't some ten-minute airport…

hey there,
thanks for posting to the SFR voting story on your site. I really appreciate it. It's my hope that the story will help the public understand some of the issues--but beyond that, I'm really hoping that it might provide a jumping off point for other journalists, bloggers, citizens, etc. to continue looking into election issues in New Mexico. It's way too important of an issue, and I'd hate for us all to be scratching our heads after Nov's election day and wondering what happened. Again.

Hey LP,

Tried to sign up for NM FBIHOP and it hasn't sent me an email... so I can't comment.

LP in action! Welcome.

Let's talk if there are particular ways you'd like to get involved here that aren't obvious or accessible.

Glad you're here.
