Upcoming chance for a (fairly large) piece of Breaking Bad History. Who wants a Tercel?

Posted on March 17, 2013 at 5:47pm 0 Comments

Auto blog Jalopnik has announced that Mike Faris Wholesale, on 4th St NW near Osuna, will be selling the 84 Toyota Tercel driven by "plucky Meth cooker Jesse Pinkman".  The only catch is that the car can't be sold until the show run is complete.  Well, that and it's a '84 Toyota Tercel...

But hey, who can pass up the chance to park a bit of Albuquerque pop culture right in their very own garage?  Me, I'd go over that bad boy with a fine-toothed comb to make sure there weren't any…

New Mexico Broadband "in the Boonies". Rural broadband travails writ large upon the 'tubes.

In the spirit of trying to generate some discussions and rev up the DCF boards, I'm putting up this link:

http://www.cnet.com/profile/ericcmack/?tag=mncol;title

That connects to a 5-part series by Eric Mack on CNet (tech-news web site) which discusses some of the issues experienced in rural New Mexico, Penasco to be precise, in trying to get a workable internet connection in his new location in…

Renaming the Very Large Array??

Posted on October 14, 2011 at 10:30pm 0 Comments

This isn't strictly an Albuquerque post, so I might be amiss in putting it up here, but it's news I thought was worth spreading about.  The National Radio Astronomy Observatory has upgraded the hardware of the VLA and is now holding a contest to rename it.  I've always loved the fact that the VLA was so simply…

Lahjik, thanks for the ice cream recommendation for Denver! I used poor posting etiquette (i.e. wrote about someplace that's not Duke City) so my post was pulled. I should read the instructions sometime... The plan is to catch Bonnie Brae's for some post-sushi ice cream. My meal plans are coming together nicely. Exxxxcellent.

Thanks for the tip!
Cheers,
Tiffany

You lucky, lucky bastard. 58mph?

My record was 47.4, coming down the Jemez on 6-Aug-06. After my bike wreck two years ago this past Saturday, I'll probably never pass 35mph again.

What are you riding that you can dive bomb like that?
