"Only issue w/Qwest bundle is that some areas of town have limitations on what their internet capabilities are so take a peek at their website if that could be an issue for you. For instance, in my [older, established UNM area] neighborhood the max…"
"My experiences over the years with Comcast finally drove me to Direct TV.
Their customer service and scheduling are far superior to Comcast's.
The only downside is the snow storm we had in February when I had to go out in the 0 degree weather…"
"They say on their commercials that they "are as good as their word" and that "their word is good." They say they will give you money back for missed appointments. Like Adelita, be persistent and demand that they reimburse you for…"
"When Comcast failed to come to my house when they promised, I called customer service and asked them to reimburse me for the hours I lost at work waiting for them. I had to complain to a couple of people, but within 20 minutes of my call they…"
"They are a wonderful place. We got one of our cats from Animal Humane. They need some more votes so that they can win the money. You can vote every day. I bookmarked them, and go there everyday to vote."
"I have found that people in Albuquerque are extremely friendly. We've lived here for over a year, and most of the people talk to you, smile, say "Hi," etc. We've been very impressed with this aspect. Sometimes, I come across…"
It's funny I think people are so accustomed to driving in a car they have no idea that they're missing out on anything by doing so. I know I forgot that for a long time. Then I decided to go a year without a car and boy did I find out a lot. I made a whole new connection with this city. Before when I only drove I had no appreciate for the fact that if you're driving East in Albuquerque you're going uphill. Or that going through different neighborhoods during the spring can be like a tour of smells. This city is really great and there's just so many wonderful things to miss if you're trapped in a little metal cube zooming along, unaware of it all.
A friend used to live in Park Place apartments and I visited twice. From what I remember they were nice and the location is very good. But that is all I remember. Good luck and keep us up to date on your move! Cheers!
I grew up in Dayton (Huber Heights) but currently live in Columbus. I am planning to move to ABQ in three years or less (my daughter is currently going to Wright State). Tell me about how you plan to make the move as I will be doing the same in the not too distant future. Good luck!
Hey Lana-that's great you may want to be a speechie too:) I'm doing my undergrad pre-reqs now and I love the field, though some classes are hard. Let me know if you have any questions. I have the same concerns about in-state tuition too, but one thing I love about UNM and NMSU is that they allow out of state students to have in state tuition for 6 credits per semester and during the summer. and in state tuition is much cheaper in NM than it is in NY. So I plan on going PT during my first year until I'm a resident and then be FT after that. Plus you can get health insurance as a PT student at UNM, which will make it easier to get by that first year.
