Po'Girl at N4th Theater

July 22, 2011 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm
One of our favorite bands!  We saw they were playing at the Botanic Gardens on July 21 and had to ask them to pay a repeat visit to N4th while they were here.  They had such a good time performing there  a few years ago that they were happy to agree. This free show filled up instantly.  We are currently taking names for the waiting list.  But if you missed out, be sure to see them at the Gardens and you might like to get on the AMP e-mail announcement list so you can get the latest breaking…See More

I can't believe that I'm so far behind in welcoming folks to the Art in ABQ group so...welcome to Art in ABQ. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions and thanks for joining the group! It's good to see you on DCF, Leighanna.

I would love to see you work. I will make a stop in at the galleries this coming weekend. I have Laurie Mika's book. Because I love the way she designed her tiles. I use her concept when I make my clay tiles, especially for the Frida Kahlo pieces. Is she ever in ABQ? It would be great to meet her. I do not have a website but you can google "Susanne Baca" with mosaic and art and sites will pop up that show my work. I have been asked to join Chroma Studios/Gallery. I meet with the director this coming Saturday.

Fellow NM Photographer!
Just a quick note to invite you to Karl Koenig's opening at the Inpost Art Space (at the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale SE) this coming Friday evening, 5-8. Karl is a talented photographer who makes images mostly of nature and architecture, the world round. The show will focus on his large format gumoil photographs, a process that he pioneered himself about 20 years ago. The prints are hand pigmented, resulting in amazingly vibrant photographs with a wondrous, almost catastrophic fairy tale quality. I find them highly affecting and unique.

My fellow curator Rob Thalmann and I plan to focus heavily on local photography during our 2 year term there at the Outpost, and this is just the tip of the iceberg for us. Maybe we could even do a DCF photographer's group show there?

Come see the show on the 5th!
