Where I Live:: Downtown Albuquerque

About Me:: I am a: kaphic, mesomorphic, scorpio, sheep (or goat), Buddhist massage therapist who also works for the government; I'm single ; I believe that in order to live a happy life you have to accept that life is birth, sickness, old age and death. Accept that and you soon discover the Rich Texture Beauty and Creative Work that is abundant in life.

I was trained in massage by a curandera that lived next door to my Grandmother 25 years ago. I utilize a type of massage therapy called Integrative Neuromuscular Therapy. It incorporates the meditative techniques of Cranial Sacral therapy with deep and deeper tissue techniques of Myofascial therapy and Triggerpoint therapy in order to achieve a balanced sense of well being. I also practice Pahi Lomi for deep relaxation.

I've been a practicing Buddhist since 1987 and I sit on the Board of Directors for the RigDzin Dharma Foundation, a Tibetan Buddhist center in the Drikung Kagyu lineage. I'm also a Vipassana practitioner and facilitate the Friday Night Calm Abiding sittings at the RigDzin Center.

I wish I'd written this:
There is essentially nothing out there,

I'm having a hard time figuring out why I'm still angry about an incident that occurred over two weeks ago. I'm usually not one to hang onto something as intangible as emotion but for some reason I'm hanging onto this like it's some kind of treasure.

The Fine Line of Metrosexuality

A month or so ago I saw a former employee of UPS on the channel 4 News who was entering a courthouse on charges of stealing items off of UPS trucks and reselling them. What drew me to the story was not his gumption but his eyebrows. They were so ridiculously PLUCKED and his arms were clearly shaved, it looked like he has a family member in beauty school trying to teach him what "looks hot".

Gone with No Warning

My partner and I were taking a drive north on 4th street this last Sunday evening. As we were nearing I-40 I was nearly thrown out the wind shield from the slamming of the brakes. My partner pointed and said, "LOOK!! When did that happen?" To my dismay the Dos Amigos sign had been covered by a "Weck's Open in February" sign. Does anyone know what/when it happened. Seems I was just there a couple of weeks ago and there wasn't any indication that they were in any kind of trouble.

As Tomorrow Draws Near...

Look around this City we all claim to be the best.
