I’m sitting at home recently when a KOAT teaser comes on.  Shelly Ribando is talking about how she is going to make the “big announcement” about the physical changes that have been concerning some of her viewers.  I felt a little puzzled.  Why the big announcement?  It's obvious she's pregnant.  My mom called it months ago.  My dad, too, noticed that Shelly's face looked "different".  Maybe it was my mom's womanly instincts, or the fact she's given birth to seven…

The student I work with gave me a picture for me yesterday. He had folded it up nicely and put in an envelope, addressing it on the front with my name. I opened it to find a drawing of a boy, tears running down his cheeks. Above it was a string of random letters, crudely drawn. I could make out a few, an "h", an "r", "o", a "y". It is early morning when I hear it. The distinct sound of a plastic hanger knocking against the wooden bedroom door. I knew to expect this. I had just hoped it wouldn’t happen just as the sunlight was beginning to peak through the blinds.
