This is an informative talk and tour on “Sukiya-zukuri” architecture, one type of Japanese residential architectural style, “Suki” meaning “refined, well cultivated taste and delights in elegant pursuits”.  Ron Griess and his wife Joanne Yoshimine-Griess have incorporated the Sukiya style into their beautiful combination Southwestern-Japanese home in the mountains east of Albuquerque, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Sandias.See More

The Japan America Society of New Mexico, Inc. (JASNM) will sponsor a buffet lunch and presentation by Ambassador William Itoh, who served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand from 1995-1999.  Ambassador Itoh will talk on “East Asia - Current Political, Economic, Social Issues and Future Trends”.  Prior to his appointment to Bangkok, he was Executive Secretary of the National Security Council at the White House (1993-1995).  He also served in the U.S. Embassy in London (1976-1978)…See More
