Hi Miriam,

I ran across your question about living with less stuff and can share my own experience with you on the topic.... Several years ago I sold my house and bought a motorhome. My intention was to simplify, to get closer to nature, to explore the country. I lived and worked from that motorhome for two years.

Living in a motorhome, you have to simplify because there is simply no room for stuff. Prior to this lifestyle choice, I was a "stuff-aholic" and I was worried that I would miss my stuff and would feel restricted because I couldn't get more stuff.

This was not the case. After the initial "OMG what did I do!" reaction, I found a new sense of freedom and a new ability to discern what was really important in my life. The only thing I ended up missing was not my shoes and my clothes and my trinkets, it was my library of books. (Really hard to fit a full library in a motorhome.)

I now live in a home again - actually a roommate situation - and have expanded my stuff a little bit, but I find that I am still quite discerning and have little desire to add things that are really not important.

In any case, I hope that gives you some insight!

I live in San Diego, but will be coming out to ABQ for several weeks in Sept. & Oct. I am facilitating two events in your area that you and your friends might be interested in... The first is an Ascension Mastery Workshop at Moondancer Bookstore in Corrales on September 27th and the second is a Vision Walk up near Sandia Crest on September 28th. If you're interested in knowing more about either of them or sharing them with your friends, I'd be happy to email you the details - just let me know!

I can't find your contact info...you can certainly call me though when you have a chance. I hope your workshop went well! Are you still a member of AIBA?

Hi Miriam!
I wish I had known about your workshop sooner...my fault for not being as active on this site as I should be! I'd really like to add you to my database as a contact person. The clients I work with sometimes need help with physical organization as well! Look forward to hearing from you...Tamara

So, I am wondering how many of the 10 people who told me they might show up to my workshop tomorrow actually will. I would love to be optimistic and think they all will and bring a friend. I can talk about simplifying and organizing for hours to one or thirty. The problem is how many packets of really good information should I make? It is unprofessional to run out and wasteful to print too many. Any of you interested in streamlining your life? Come on down and bring a friend. See calendar for details.

Right now I am gainfully unemployed, and somehow I have more money than I have had in over a year. Cooking? HA... I guess I am not good enough to work in any of the mediocre/ trying to keep up with applebees and Mimi's cafe/ restaurants that are in this town. It's been a long 1 1/2 months but I closed Martini Grille, then was offered the Chef de Cuisine spot at La Provence (not a brasserie, but a bistro) which ended before I even pulled my knife bag out, than went to Santa Rosa and consulted on a Pizzeria, oh, I almost forgot, Vernon's Steakhouse was in there, but their payroll checks don't clear. So, whatever. I am kicking around the notion of buying Chris Ogelsvie's BBQ trailer and hitting the street in front of Burt's and The Atomic again schlepping burgers and sausages. I could call it The Wurst Wagun. What d'ya think of that.
