"Hi Carmen, I'm from the Chicago area, not Minnesota. I thought I'd left Obama when I moved here three years ago, no such luck. Are you a native? Paul"

"So should we teach the savagery of many native Americans? After the Spanish were expelled the Apaches abused the Pueblo Indians to such a degree they were practically begging the Spanish to return and restore order. There is no benefit to nurturing…"

"Like most Americans, I strongly support the AZ law (note to self: I really need to visit the Grand Canyon) and would like to see it in NM. For Pete's sake, I can't even cash a $20 check at Wells-Fargo without showing two forms of ID. It is…"

Paul7 commented on Laura's blog post NM schools: What, really? We can do better, right?
"That is a good point that's been brought up here that many in NM don't see the value of an education. What we see as a 'problem', they don't. I have no idea how you fix that one."

Paul7 commented on Laura's blog post NM schools: What, really? We can do better, right?
"Sorry, that's a simplistic explanation for the success of private schools vs. public. There is something fundamentally unfair with a parent paying $5,000 in property taxes to fund public schools, and then having to come up with thousands more…"

To a Northerner that IS Paradise! Right? You are right on the mark on the gun issues. As for dinglenutz we can't stand him. I hope the idiots who voted him in get egg in their face big time and regret their votes!

Yeah RE Chicagoans... my first year here I was telecommuting for a software company in Chicago. Though I told my boss I was moving to Albuquerque (and that's where the checks came), I think he never really grasped it and kept telling people I was living in Phoenix. Couldn't quite wrap his brain around me "living in the middle of nowhere" ;-)

Hey welcome! I'm originally from Chicago too which means that I still have at least 2 pair of long underwear sitting around somewhere.

Here's some info I've been leaving for people as they join.
