David Bromberg at South Broadway Cultural Center

May 2, 2013 from 7:30pm to 10pm
For years, David Bromberg earned a living as a New York studio musician, playing in sessions with a Who’s Who of folk and rock and roll greats, including Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. His own albums, including "Demon in Disguise" and "How Late'll Ya Play ’Til," grabbed him a major audience, and his live performances won him fans for life. His original songs are clever, funny, and often profound, and the depth of his knowledge of traditional folk and blues is staggering.See More

Hayes Carll at The Dirty Bourbon

April 21, 2013 from 8pm to 10pm
Wildly literate, utterly slackerly, impossibly romantic, absolutely a slave to the music, Hayes Carll is completely committed to the truth and unafraid to skewer pomposity, hypocrisy and small-minded thinking. Carll’s banged-up take on classic country is honed by the road – sometimes as a man and guitar, sometimes with his scrappy band, but always taking in the vistas and humanity before him. Warren Hood & the Goods will open the show.See More

Join 516 ARTS and guest curator Lea Anderson in welcoming visiting San Francisco-based artist Melissa Gwyn to Albuquerque for a unique presentation and talk at CNM's Smith-Brasher Hall. Profile Information

Where I Live:

About Me:
First of all, I should explain my name, Princess Peussie. You've heard of Queen Latifa? She's no queen; I'm no princess but got that 'nick name' as a child and have been with it for so many years!

I love this city, born here, raised here and love it now. I lived in Montana for some years, loved it there until a scam couple from Philadelphia appeared up on the scene and took lots of money from musicians in my area, telling us "We are representing an East Coast music management".... and so many people here were robbed. Now I find this couple in Albuquerque. I hope they are not scamming people here.
Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:
Such clubs as "Women with a Nasty Attitiude", psychic healing for the losers in the Art of Love.
What I'm Reading:
Margaret Welting's "Down and out, Whoring in Camden", a funny yet sad book about a young girl trying to make a living playing what she refers to as 'a skin flute'. A charming but rather shallow life.
Another favorite new book is "Looking for Some Love" by Nana Cornell, an amazing book about a psychic who marries an alcoholic ex-Marine. I cannot get through the book without shedding a few tears and having a few good laughs.
