About Me:
They say storytellers are Keepers of the Culture. I prefer to call myself a Keeper of the Heart. I've been performing the spoken word on stage nationally and locally for over 15 years. I conduct workshops and give presentations on embracing change and challenges for empowered living. I perform folklore and original stories in movement-dance and song, creating an atmosphere of playful wisdom which in turn stimulates imagination, literary skills, and logic. My historical portrayal of civil rights activist and educator Mary Mcleod Bethune puts youth in touch with an African American woman born in the late 1800's ,who believed anything is possible as she manifested her dream to build a school which stands today as the Bethune-Cookman College.

I'm also the 4th Sunday Host and DJ for "The Spoken Word Hour" on KUNM 89.9 FM, KUNM.org on live webstream. Listen to an array of Stories. Storytellers, Slam Poets, Albuquerque Actors and Interviewees artistically share life stories, ambitions and concerns. The Spoken Word Hour - Where Words Do Their Thing - every Sunday night at 8pm.

The road trip on the storytellers path has been exhilarating and often times profound. I am sincerely grateful for all who've entrusted me to tell their stories...who've entrusted me to listen to their vulnerabilities. Folklore continues to teach me something about my circumstances and what life is ... who people are. Here in Albuquerque I've gained so much from the people I've met. I gain so much from the silence I experience when I sit outside with the starry night sky. This place truly is enchanting

Here's one post that sums up the purpose of the Maternal Dreamer shows:

LOVE THEM WELL

A few years ago Fred and Kristen Wilson of Stawberry/Muddy Wheel Gallery in Albuquerque New Mexico together created a necklace I saw in their shop. I was immediately drawn to it. Kristen said it's so appropriate that of all the necklaces she had in her shop I was drawn to the one… Continue

Hi Ramona,
Great to hear from you. Happy 2009. I officiated at 71 weddings in 2008 and it looks like I'll be pretty busy marrying couples in 2009. It's the best job I can imagine! I'm just finishing an article on the 21st Century Wedding Ceremony (c). It's time to give couples more options as they pledge their love to each other. My direct marketing/newsletter business is also booming. Life is good!

Hi Ramona, Thanks for your comment. First, it was so nice to see you tell at the Tellabration. I always enjoy your stories so much. We do have some clips, but I am not sure how to attach them to this page. Do you know how to do that?

I guess the girls want the day off to shop til they drop, but i'd really like to see her or at least hear from her. Any other ideas?
