"I walked across the new bridge yesterday and I love it! It's such a fantastic project. I saw bicyclists, families, joggers, and dog walkers all utilizing the bridge and taking in the view, which I love - until now, it's a view that's…"
"Great advice about the stop signs at the bottom of the bridge for the N-S traffic! I accidentally rode right through it this AM on my commute as I didn't see them - haven't been down there in a while now. The underpass was bad BEFORE the…"
"I didn't find it online either. I'll include a jpg of the invitation, below. I rarely drive over the I-40 bridge, but did yesterday and noticed equipment still working on the upper portion of the bike path.
"Do you have the link to this info? I looked on the CABQ website and it was nowhere to be found.
I really wish they would update their website more often... or just completely revamp it in general.... but anyway, that's an entirely different…"
"This just in: Mayor Richard J. Berry and The Albuquerque City Council invite you to the ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication of The Gail Ryba Memorial Bridge (I-40 Recreation Bridge) on Monday, August 30, 2010. The ribbon cutting is to take place…"
"I rode up to the east end yesterday just as two riders were coming down the bridge. I helped them climb over the fence, but talked myself out of trying the same thing in the opposite direction. My suspicion is they're waiting to line up the…"
I've been using Bontrager Hardcase tires ever since I got my road bike. They're not quite as stiff as Armadillos (based on my very limited experience) so they're easier to change if and when you do get a flat.
Between the Hardcase tires and slime tubes, I get flats very rarely. The tires last me about 3,000 miles each. I've had only a handful of flats with them in the past 2.5 years.
I saw your comment re: Neonnoodle's move here and came here out of curisoity for why you were unhappy in the "Q" also. I moved here 3 years ago and so many people don't understand why I am unhappy here. I too had a string of unlucky incidents happen to me when I first moved here, although not as severe as you. I was robbed twice in my first 6 months here. Once, a guy literally opened our front door and took my mountain bike off our closed in porch. (Stupidly he rode it by my house a few days later and my boyfriend promptly "stole" it back from him, but not after the guy had the nerve to ask for 20 bucks for it!!).... another time my car was broken into while i was in paying for gas...of course nobody saw anything! I've since learned some tricks to living in this city.. don't have anything nice that is visible to anyone that can peak through your car or house windows. ... When we first moved here was also when a series of terrible things occured..the deputy that was shot by Astorga, the 5 people murdered by a mental patient, a police helicopter shot down... and then our first new year's eve ducking in fear that a bullet was going to come through my picture window.. alas, i've gotten slightly used to these negatives and really tried to focus on the positives like the great people I've met and the beautiful weather!!
