"Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love." - A.Einstein

Profile Information

Where I Live:
I used to live in Snow Heights...but now I'm in Portland, OR
About Me:
A silly little San Francisco girl who lived in Phoenix for FIVE YEARS, and relocated to Albuquerque in September 2007. I up and moved myself from my childhood, the streets I knew, and all my friends in the pursuit of graduate school, cheaper living, and life experience. I have been blessed to have kept the good friends from the bay, found a bunch that I thought I lost, and have made so many more on my way. My husband and I were lured away from our beloved Duke City in February 2015 by a promotion he received. We now live in the land of hipsters - Portland, OR.

Professionally, I'm a nonprofit fundraising, marketing, and events specialist. My passion is to find the root of the cause and figure out how to sell it to as many constituencies as possible. Fundraising is fundamentally marketing, and I enjoy turning a mission into a great package for the community to buy into.

Personally, I live and love in the world of Rockabilly, Burlesque, Art, Performance, classic cars, coffee, with a little SCA thrown in there for fun!

I'm madly in love with my husband. In 2009, we spent a day experiencing the south valley's Dia De Los Muertos parade & festival, and he surprised me with a question and a ring. I said yes. We married a year later, on 10/30/10.

I'm an avid yoga practitioner, vegetarian, and all around health nut. HOWEVER, I'm still a big lover of food! (particularly of the chocolate variety)

I am one happy chubby :)
Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:

Shivering in Antici...

Posted on October 17, 2011 at 1:11pm 4 Comments

I’m not quite sure how old I was the first time I went to a midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  I would say I was somewhere around 14 or 15 years old.  I remember being shocked, amazed, and intrigued.  I loved the energy.  I loved the music.  And, more than anything, I loved the…

Something New for ABQ

Most of you know that I am a burlesque performer. Most of you know that I am very proud of what I do, and the international community that supports the burlesque movement.  Every day I learn something new, and am in awe of and inspired by what performers in this genre are doing.  It is one of the most eclectic and jaw-dropping performance mediums I have ever known.  The traditional bump, grind, and tease aside - burlesque is…

This holiday - buy LOCAL and INDEPENDENT!

Posted on December 5, 2010 at 1:30pm 23 Comments

Every holiday season it is so easy to get swept up in the madness of big chain retail deals and steals. Even I was tempted to drag my ass out at 4am to try and grab the food processor I’ve been wanting at nearly 60% off retail. Thankfully, my food coma kept me from such insanity. However, it seems that on Black Friday… Continue

The battle for green

So, I'm officially in my sixth month of home ownership. My indoor decor progresses with every new Filmore poster, pulp art print, circus punk, or vinyl collectible I find.

But, my fiance and I have started… Continue

Dude, Marina! (Sorry, am I not supposed to reveal your real name to the world? I've gotten slapped by a burlesque dancer for doing that in public before. Slapped. And I was her stage manager. She got slapped back, proverbially.). So good to hear from you. I'm in town for the rest of the spring, and then back to the lookout at the end of June for one more season at least. Got an AWESOME job doing public relations for Santa Fe Greenhouses. Love it. Just signed a lease on a studio downtown, so now I can walk to the trains station each morning. I'm STOKED! So happy to be back. I'm really gonna try to make the show on Friday night. I'm super broke right now, but you know I always manage to dig up some kind of funds for the tassle twirlers. I would love to see you perform again. Regardless, let's get coffee soon. That's so funny about MEW. I haven't even told them I'm for sure doing it again! But yes, I've been working on some preproduction for them, so inevitably I'll find myself in Vegas again this year. Wanna come? Mwah!

Hey! You are a SF (San Francisco) girl? I went to college across the bay. I still miss the water.

Loved your comments about all there is to do here - I feel the same way. A weekend at home is a rare thing indeed.

I don't know if this is the right place. Maybe you can straighten me out. On the craftacular Albuquerque group site to message you if I have a retailer to add to your list. My question is, is leaving a comment the same as messaging you? Because I can't find a place that says Leave A Message.

The retailer I would like for you to add is Village Wools and they are on the web at www.villagewools.com. They are on San Pedro between Paseo del Norte and Alameda. In addition to their shop, they hold classes for knitters and occasionally us lowly crocheters. Thanks twice.

I'm back!!

1) I have managed to $#(*#)*( your number in my phone. I'm retarded.

2) Sancho gets neutered on Friday, he will be rewarded with a trip to the doggie store on your side of the 'hood on Saturday, perhaps also a trip to the Farmers Market and bacon at Java Joes.

3) We should hang out so we can talk about that whole B-town por vida thing.

4) There is burlesque stuff happening, we should go.

5) See #1, you should like call me, so I have your number.

Dude! The pics of the limo were awesome! and the videos rocked. I was sad when I saw the announcement for the black tie cocktail party and I couldn't attend... I haven't played "dress-up" in sooo long. I should be able to get to the new museum in another month or so. Can't wait. Thanks again for posting all the photos. I am living vicariously thru your eyes for a bit. Hope to meet you soon and say hi in person.
