I have been on a serious, serious wings kick lately. So far, I've had good experiences with Nob Hill Bar & Grill, O'Neills, and a few chains (cough, cough, Rock & Brews and Buffalo Wild…Continue

The end of the San Mateo Zombie Mall

Posted on February 20, 2017 at 12:30pm 5 Comments

At freaking last! The "zombie mall" at the southeast corner of San Mateo and Kathryn is slated for a major, community-improving upgrade: a long- requested new area command post for APD.

From the announcement by City Councilor Pat Davis:

When I took office, neighbors in the Southeast Heights…

Hi Sophie,

I 'm kind of the new kid on the block or old chip off the block or whatever--but yr blog on y2k made me want to add that during the madness17 years ago, my daughter and I drove out to disneyland and my hunch was right--no one on the road, motels across the street empty, and zero lines for at least the first few hours until the craies figured out y2k had just become another regular day.  She went on Magic Mountain like a zillion times before the hordes arrived. Just sayin'  That was the sunny side of y2k 2000.
