About Me:
I've been in Albuquerque since 2004 and I freakin' love it. I have an art studio in my spare room and when I'm not there painting I'm lurking around thrift stores looking for my next vintage album cover or dress pattern to take inspiration from.

NM Tea Company now serving tea and food

Posted on August 8, 2009 at 8:30pm 6 Comments

I love the New Mexico Tea Company for many things; for its fabulous selection of tea and tea accessories, for its knowledgeable owner David Edwards (I haven't met his business partner but I'm sure she knows her stuff, too), and for the smell when I walk through the door. The smell was always a promise of things to come… Continue

Two a Day: end of an era...for now

Posted on July 31, 2009 at 5:32pm 5 Comments

I started my Two a Day project on June 5 so it hasn't been quite two months. I've crossed a lot of items off of my To Do List in that time and I don't think I would have accomplished so much if I didn't have the structure and support of this blog and its commenters to keep me motivated.

This sounds like a farewell post and it is, sort of. I have a new job… Continue

Two a Day: good enough

Posted on July 24, 2009 at 12:17pm 4 Comments

This week's Two a Day was about painting rather than weeding. The project started last year when I bought paint for my deck, painted three boards, then decided that the brown I picked was too green and what's the point? Well, now I figure a slightly green brown is better then what my husband jokingly calls 'the rustic look', which really just means weathered and… Continue

Two a Day: reclaiming the brick

Posted on July 17, 2009 at 9:47am 18 Comments

My two a day was cut short this week, or rather, it was redistributed. I worked in the back yard for four hours on Thursday instead of the customary two, I wanted it to look nice for company. Naturally, after such a herculean effort (it actually did kick my butt) I took Friday off. Here is how the week went:

Whoah it was hard to scrape… Continue

Two a Day: thread grass and stuff

Posted on July 10, 2009 at 2:10pm 4 Comments

This week's Two a Day was three days of yard work instead of the five days that I set myself as a goal. I just have to say eff it, I'm still getting a lot done and enjoying the process so I'm not going to fret about the arbitrary guidelines I've given myself. (It's not easy for me to do as evidenced by the fact that I even have to mention… Continue

Thank you for welcoming me Spring!! I once know someone named Autumn.(Lol: ) Off Center featured my self portrait in their calender and I hope to sell the original in the gallery. I've been told that you really have to learn how promote yourself if you wanna make it in the art world. From your own experience you think that's true? I think the business is too competitive and that real artists are just lovers of forms and beauty. It least thats the way I am.
