Crooks & Liars Welcomes Blue America’s Martin Heinrich

Crooks and liars has a post today about Heinrich in light of the fact that Bush is in town stumping for Grandaddy McCain. The post also touches on why Darren White is unfit for… Continue

Heinrich's Game

...and I mean game for the fight. I like his tone in this video and he's doing exactly what he should when confronted by smears from the right... shine the light on exactly who they are and what they stand for. Heinrich respects his audience's intelligence and doesn't need sleeze.

I got this from Crooks and Liars and they have a little write up to go with… Continue

There's More To That Red Light Camera Than A Ticket

Posted on February 25, 2008 at 12:56am 11 Comments

Recently I was involved in a spirited debate about the validity of red light cameras here in Albuquerque. Many involved were coming from the perspective of road safety and their personal experiences on the roads of Albuquerque. Some stated that they wished they were on every corner, others stated that their experience with an expensive ticket had taught them to drive more carefully... or at least drive more carefully when going through an intersection with a camera. What I thought was being… Continue

FOAT Meeting Akin to the Current Journalistic Landscape

Posted on February 24, 2008 at 1:44am 14 Comments

The Friends of the Albuquerque Tribune met on Thursday to discuss possibilities of salvaging the 86 year old Albuquerque daily. The meeting itself seemed to mirror the changing media landscape and the obstacles and opportunities that arise when a demographic is faced with a regional media monopoly. The overwhelming majority of the audience was over the age of fifty. One woman quipped towards the end of the meeting "Lets face it, the majority of us here are tired activists". Her statement… Continue

I don't think they need to. They've got a good lead in the polls, influenced not insignificantly by the way the negative campaigning is turning off the undecided voters.

The Republican ticket is beginning to implode under the weight of its own desperation. The left doesn't need to stoop low enough make any attacks. I think it would be important and tactful, though, for Obama to demand an apology from McCain on behalf of his rabid supporters.

I'm becoming more and more certain that Obama will win. My only fear now is that some hilljack paranoiac will get off his meds and take his arsenal to the White House. They say Obama has one of the most thorough security details in the history of presidential candidates, but still I worry.

Pups generally will bite for attention and it sounds like this guy is not getting enough of that especially if it is chained in the back yard and isolated. I would definitely recommend re-homing it.
If they are not able to commit to a one hour walk, continual socialization, and mental stimulation on a daily basis then it is the humane thing to do to find another home where they are able to provide this.
Believe me, I know how much time raising a puppy takes. It can make a person crazy. I cannot imagine having to contend with a pup AND kids. :)
Let me know how it turns out. If she does want to commit to training, I know several great places.

Good to hear your post too. I'm glad you brought that up - it gives people a little bit of a history of our "homeland" - that they may not know already.

There's not a day that I think about going back to ABQ. I know it'll happen sometime - that's where my real roots are.

I think New Mexico overall is one of the most beautiful places in North America, if not the world. To me, it's one of those historically and culturally unique regions of the US.
