Moved to ABQ 2 plus years ago from the east coast (Connecticut & New York), but a midwestern girl by birth. Brought my job with me, work from a home office, managing editor for websites for a publishing company back east part time / full time at Zimmerman Library at UNM. Preparing for the Good Friday Pilgrimmage to the Santuario.
Just finished the Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein and it's highly recommended. Here's what's on my to be read pile: Wild Indigo, Sandi Ault (NM Mystery); The Ecuador Effect, David Stuart (literary mystery heavy on the anthropology); Mathematicians in Love, Rudy Rucker (SF); A Land So Strange, Andres Resendez (NF about the journey of Cabeza da Vaca)

Fellow NM Photographer!
Just a quick note to invite you to Karl Koenig's opening at the Inpost Art Space (at the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale SE) this coming Friday evening, 5-8. Karl is a talented photographer who makes images mostly of nature and architecture, the world round. The show will focus on his large format gumoil photographs, a process that he pioneered himself about 20 years ago. The prints are hand pigmented, resulting in amazingly vibrant photographs with a wondrous, almost catastrophic fairy tale quality. I find them highly affecting and unique.
My fellow curator Rob Thalmann and I plan to focus heavily on local photography during our 2 year term there at the Outpost, and this is just the tip of the iceberg for us. Maybe we could even do a DCF photographer's group show there?
